"HONORING THE ARTISANS OF OAXACA, MEXICO"
Event to be held in the parking lot and will feature the works of Josefina Anguilar, Concepcion Anguilar, the wood carvings of the men of Oaxaca, and art related to the Oaxaca region. 10% of sales of these items will be sent to the artisans of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Several artists have created Mexican folk art for this event. 10% of sales of this art will also go to the artisans of Oaxaca, Mexico. There will also be free tattoo consultations by Bill and Shana of Black Tide Parlour, free 5 minute neck/shoulder massages by Christine Alexander of Artful Touch Massage, free samples of Mr's. Gatti's Premium Rum Cakes, live music outside by Liquid Casing, and live music inside by Chris Robbins of Aquarius Music. Photography of the event will be furnished by His Ruin Photography.
The gallery will be open for viewing and purchasing of other art and items, too.
Word from the Director:
"After reading about the artisans in Oaxaca and falling in love with their work, I would like to honor these hard working artists that have very little, work long hard hours producing their art, and have little compensation for it. I feel that once the artists have sold their pieces and the pieces are purchased for the third or fourth time, the artist should receive some more compensation for their wonderful work. This way we can send the artists some more money to thank them for the fantastic art that they create."

Located on Bay Area Blvd west of Space Center, between The Cove Apartments and Bay Mart.
